Inspiration - Yuan dynasty scroll from the Great Khan / Chinese Emporer accepting tribute from an outlying regional ruler. Original was bilingual in Chinese and Mongolian. Also, a similar artistic motif was used on a Tai Ch'ing dynasty scroll which was referenced when details on the Yuan dynasty scroll were blurry. Order badge worked into the corners of an otherwise period design.

Inspiration - Illumination is from a Sung dyansty scroll known as Nine Dragons. Two of the dragons from this scroll rendered almost exactly with the addition of color and the order badge worked into the flaming pearl held by one dragon top center. Wording loosely inspired by a Yuan dynasty scroll from the Great Khan / Chinese Emporer accepting tribute from an outlying regional ruler. Original was bilingual in Chinese and Mongolian.
